Fine Motor Snowman Activity for Toddlers
This fine motor snowman activity for toddlers is the perfect homemade game for the holidays and Winter season. Upcycle a 2-liter bottle using just a marker and a scrap of cloth for a scarf, and you’ve made a fun and engaging activity that your toddler will enjoy all Winter long.
My toddler is a lover of fine motor activities. She was a late walker, just like my son, and has always shown an interest in fine motor play and activities that exercise her brain, as opposed to gross motor development. It’s been interesting to watch! I’ve worked with all kinds of children from a few months old to 3, and they are all so incredibly unique.
To cater to her love of putting tiny little toys and trinkets inside of other things, I made this snowman activity for her! Of course, you know my preschooler had to join in.
It’s been a hit, and I’ve kept it on our homeschool shelf ever since. It’s actually been played with so much that the cotton balls are falling apart at this point.

Snowman Fine Motor Toddler Activity
For this easy snowman craft, here’s what you need:
- Cotton balls
- 2-liter bottle (mine might actually be smaller than that, but hey, whatever you got will work)
- Sharpie
- Orange marker
- Scrap cloth for the scarf (you may need some hot glue if you can’t tie it)
Your toddler will love working on their fine motor skills with this activity. Mine fight over it constantly. It may be a bit TOO popular.
